Privacy

Short version: your health data stays yours. WalkTheTalk reads only the activity data it needs to score a challenge you chose to join, and only after you grant permission.

WalkTheTalk is in MVP development. This is a pre-launch draft published for transparency and will be finalised and legally reviewed before the app is released.

What we collect

  • Health and activity data. With your explicit permission, the iOS app reads step and activity data from Apple Health so it can calculate your progress in challenges you join.
  • Account information. Basic details needed to create and secure your account and to show you your challenge history.
  • Challenge activity. Which challenges you joined, your daily results, streaks and completion status.
  • Waitlist email address. If you sign up on this website, we store your email address so we can tell you when the app launches.

How we use it

We use your data to run the product: to score your challenges, show your progress and streaks, keep your account secure, and send you product updates you asked for.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health data for advertising.

Apple Health permissions

Access to Apple Health is granted by you in iOS and can be revoked at any time from the Health app or iOS Settings. If you revoke access, WalkTheTalk can no longer read new activity data, which means ongoing challenge progress can no longer be calculated.

Sharing with others

We share data with service providers that help us operate the product — for example hosting and analytics — under agreements that limit what they may do with it. Sponsors of a challenge receive aggregated participation information, not your personal health data.

Retention and your rights

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, plus any period required for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes. You can request access to your data, correction of it, export of it, or deletion of your account at any time.
